Let us introduce you to the team behind this years Halloween festivities... Al Barclay We are delighted to announce that we have managed to pin down the one and only Al Barclay and coerce him to lead you into the darkness one final time. Nobody knows who Al really is or why he stumbles across the Heath every night howling lies, threats and insults. It is said that if you follow him and survive you learn of impossible wonders but get so inebriated they are lost forever to your memory. Follow him if you dare. This life is short anyway. Perhaps it will ease the pain? JOnathan Peck This year we also have some fresh meat in the form of Johnathan Peck, he describes himself thus... Classically trained at GSMD but when not paying the bills with the RSC or NT Jonathan’s passion lies in the commuted reality and truth of immersive theatre: where killing an audience member is encouraged, 5 hour long werwolf monologues on heat are celebrated, hunting patrons with the Halloween hatchet embraced, poisoning trick or treat candy a moral duty and hide and seek compulsory (Just try and find that body now). Jonathan also invented the stupid look when scared shitless, thus seeks new ones out every year. (Find out more about Jonathans nefarious deeds https://Jonathan.peck.uk) Siwan Hill We ask Peculiar producer Siwan Hill what made you decide to step back from Haunted Hampstead? ....'Well it's just getting harder and harder to run an event of this nature, these days it's all red tape and risk assessments where as in the early days when we started out if you took a large group of people onto Hampstead Heath late at night it was generally accepted that one or two of them probably weren't going to be coming back again'.... Canice Bannon Finally if you join the Halloween tour this year stay vigilant as on certain nights (and we're not going to tell you which ones) you may get a visitation from Canice... Canice studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His hobbies include drowning newly born kittens and rebuilding a 115 year old Dutch Barge of which he has filmed the process for YouTube. https://youtube.com/@canicebannon?si=LJJRoM5gOJ3ghxCc

It's that time of year when we make our annual pilgrimage to Sacred spirits in Highgate village: Sacred spirits are a family run craft distillery founded in 2008, they have 2 shops, one in Highgate and one in Shoreditch, both of which are facinating temples to the ancient art of distillation and an absolute must for anyone with a taste for fine drinking. Find out more about them here: sacredgin.com
Every year we offer the customers on the Haunted Hampstead Halloween tour a complimentary drink courtesy of the good folk at scared spirits, this year we're going for the wonderfully autumnal Rosehip cup which as well as tasting delicious is also a great source of vitamin c for keeping those winter colds at bay! We are so excited to be coming back to another favourite Hampstead pub The Old White Bear
Although the there has been a pub on this site since 1704 The old white bear closed its doors in 2012 and stayed closed for 9 years as property developers tried to turn into (yet more) luxury flats. Fortunately the local community rallied round campaigned for it to remain a pub, it finally reopened in December 2021 - Just as everything else was shutting due to Omicron! We wondered if it would even survive, but 'The Old White bear' has a fighting spirit, it has gone from strength to strength (They've recently opened an upstairs bar as well.) And has gone on to become one of NW3's finest boozers. We brought the Halloween tour here in 2022 and we cant wait to bring you back again this October. She's back, boils and all! We are delighted to inform you that the one and only Jo Danzing aka the Gin Hag will once again be plying her favours on Hampstead heath this Halloween.
Meet Sean Barret, the newest edition the Peculiar team: Sean graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2023 after deciding to become an actor having previously studied Physics at Durham Unviersity.
During a busy first year as a professional actor he has tried his hand at everything from short films and immersive productions to TIE and voiceover. He is currently performing in the Paddington Bear experience on South Bank, and filming for short film "The Cage" in Leicester. He is also an avid musician having performed professionally in the band Cardinal Blue. This year we have also been sad to say goodbye to another Halloween collaborator Chris Styles. But rest assured he gone to a better place, having secured his dream job on immersive sci fi extravaganza Bridge Command if you've ever wanted to live out your star trek fantasies this is the place to come
Its a couple of years since we've been here, but we are delighted to be kicking off this years Halloween tour from 'The Duke of Hamilton' a gorgeous gastro pub on New End road which serves a mean sunday roast, and has what has to be one of London's prettiest beer garden tucked away at the back (See pic below) If you are joining us this Halloween why not come to the Duke a little earlier and grab a bite to eat?
(Click on the image below for link to the menu.) Would recommend booking a table though as it does get busy at weekends! We are very pleased to announce that we have a fantastic new tour guide to lead you across the heath this halloween, ladies and gentlemen meet Jonathan...
